The railroad station then was placed on the Texas side and named La Tuna, which translate to "prickly pear cactus." A Spanish speaking woman by the name of Sabrina had a chapel on the New Mexico side which was dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, Sabrina insisted our town to go by the name of Anthony, rather than La Tuna [1].
