The town of Warrenville was first settled in 1833 and incorporated in 1967. Our community is rich in American tradition throughout history. It all started when Julis Warren came to the area with his family from New York. The family claimed the land along the DuPage River while helping new settlers with a niche housing development. Warren helped new settlers by providing lumber for their homes, as well as taking on the roles as a surveyor, developer, land baron, mail carrier, spokesman and more. He eventually earned the title of Colonel due to his leadership within the community.

Our community adopted Warren's name because of his contribution to our land. Up until the Civil War, our community remained on the smaller size. By 1967 our population of about 4,000 finally became an incorporated town. Today, Warrenville is home to over 13,000 people.
