Your-New-Favorite-San-Antonio-Restaurant

Finding “your spot” after moving to a new city, is easier said than done. Your old spot was a restaurant where you knew the staff, had a favorite meal, and felt at home; that is not simple to replicate. But if you are looking for such a spot in San Antonio, it should not be too difficult. This city is a foodie's dream. There is something for everyone, no matter their preference. Check out some of your local moving and storage company's favorites:

  • Arcade Midtown Kitchen was dreamt up by Chef Jesse T. Perez, who was named Top Latino Chef in 2009 by the Flavors of Passion Awards. This place boasts some of the best American/Mexicana grub around. Their lobster soft tacos have created quite a buzz around town. Arcade is located at the Pearl Brewery, so explore a bit while you are in the area.

  • The Esquire Tavern is the place to be if you are more of the bar-type. Located on the San Antonio River Walk, the Esquire Tavern has been open since 1933. They are the place to go for a drink or a unique dish; like a meatloaf sandwich or short rib empanadas.

  • Looking for true Texas barbecue? While it is not as prevalent in south Texas, it can still be found at The Barbecue Station. Located in a former gas station, the meats are all wood-smoked and the sides are made from scratch every day. The brisket, chicken, sausage, and pork ribs are all delicious; along with the creamed corn, potato salad, and pinto beans.

  • The Luxury is another River Walk establishment, but this one is made out of a shipping container and parked by the river. Sit at a picnic table along the river, and order up a pulled pig sandwich with a craft beer. It is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon!

  • The Sandbar Fish House and Market is the place to go when you are craving something from the sea. Unique dishes like pan seared diver scallops with jicama, green apple, red pepper, micro herb salad and passionfruit vinaigrette, will make just about anyone's mouth water. Just a hunt: le reve onion tart is a must-order item.

  • When you are looking for a quality slice of pizza in San Antonio, head to Dough. Their authentic Neapolitan pizza has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the Food Network and House Hunters. While they do have a full menu, you will have to try the truffle and mascarpone burrata flatbread pizza (yum) or the pork lover's pizza, which is topped with soppressata salami, sausage, pancetta, speck, house pulled mozzarella, and homemade tomato sauce.

  • Looking for authentic Mexican food here in San Antonio, then look no further than Rosario's Mexican Café Y Cantina. There are two locations: one in the north side of town on San Pedro Ave, and the other in Southtown, on South Alamo. Both locations have some of the best Mexican food around. The quesadillas, nachos, and enchiladas will leave your tummy satisfied.

Moving involves a lot of change, but some of that change can be exciting! Have fun finding your new favorite eatery in San Antonio. Who knows, you may even end up liking it more than your hometown favorite!
