3 Easy Ways to Pack Your Closet

When it comes to moving, there's 2 ways of doing things. The good way and the bad way. It's that simple. No matter how you choose to go about moving and packing, it's going to involve a lot of work and it's going to be time consuming. However, the thing about work is that you can choose to work harder or work smarter. If you want to get your closet packed the way that professional movers would, then study the following tips from the packing pros of All My Sons Corpus Christi.

Hanging Clothes

The Good Way:

If you have clothes hanging up that you don't care to fold and pack individually, there's good news. The All My Sons Corpus Christi movers offer wardrobe boxes that allow you to simply transfer your clothes to the box hassle free. This is the quickest and most effective way to pack hanging clothes.

The Bad Way:

Some people who are either unaware or not interested in wardrobe boxes prefer to put their hanging clothes in large trash bags. While this is technically still easier than individually folding clothes, it's not necessarily ideal. Trash bags aren't secure and are vulnerable to tearing from the hanger's hooks. This could potentially cause more harm than good.

Dresser Drawer Clothes

The Good Way:

Remove your clothing from the dresser drawers, fold, and line them up in moving boxes. Ideally, you'll want to use larger moving boxes to maximize space.

The Bad Way:

Leaving your clothing in the dresser and transporting it as is, can be disastrous. If your bedroom furniture isn't sturdy enough to hold the weight of the clothing while being moved around, it can break. Additionally, it creates a heavier load for your Corpus Christi movers to lift. It's also not safe for you if you're planning a DIY move.

Shoes

The Good Way:

Pack your shoes in shoeboxes and then place those boxes in a larger box. If you don't have shoeboxes available, then organize your shoes neatly and place them in a large box. As an added layer of protection, you may cover your shoes in plastic bags and seal them with tape or rubber bands.

The Bad Way:

For some odd reason, people tend to pack their shoes in the same boxes as their clothing. This is a big-time mistake. For starters, you can permanently stain your clothing this way. We put on shoes to protect our feet from dirt, grime, oil, grass, and every other disgusting thing outside. Packing your shoes with your clothes is an open invitation to bacteria and stains that may not come out of your fabrics later.
