Dia de Los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” is a celebration throughout all of Texas and is perfect for families. Although it originated in Mexico, the party started in Corpus Christi in 2008 on a whim and surprisingly attracted over 600 guests. Seven years later, nearly 35,000 attend El Dia de Los Muertos Street Festival. The festival takes up Starr Street and two blocks of Mesquite. Featuring Texas artists and latin-influenced music, the festival is also kid-friendly and offers rock-climbing, games, and arts and crafts. 4. Heritage Park Museum

- The Sidbury House is supposedly haunted by a child who lurks the childrens’ rooms and knocks objects down. Guests have reported hearing footsteps leading up to the attic as well. - The Christian House Bistro is actually a restaurant, but visitors have reported that a lady with an old-fashioned dress comes out at night wearing a big hat and shoes, walks to the front door, then disappears. The Christian House Bistro can be an expensive treat so if you and your significant other are looking for a romantic yet spooky Halloween in Corpus Christi, you might want to dine with the disappearing woman. - Ward-McCampbell House is home to a girl named Mary who died of pneumonia and does not like visitors. Tour guides have reportedly been somehow prevented from coming inside the house and Mary seems to yell when guests step out onto the patio of the second floor, locking some people in until help comes to let them out.
