What Items Does Goodwill Not Take?

If you've decided to donate your items to Goodwill, or any other location, it's best to check whether there are any restrictions on the items they'll accept. For example, Goodwill cannot accept the following items:

• Furniture that's broken, worn, torn, stained, missing parts, or covered in animal hair

• Bean bag chairs

• TVs that aren't flat screens

• Large appliances including, but not limited to, stoves, washers, dryers, and refrigerators

• Air conditioners

• Bed pillows, mattresses, and box springs

Items Habitat for Humanity Will Not Accept

• Individual sliding or patio doors

• Doors over 84 inches tall

• Ceiling fans

• Sofa beds and futons

• Oversized items

• Upholstered furniture with smoke or pet damage

• Box springs, mattress, toddler beds, or cribs

• Entertainment units
