Gingerbread House at the White House

The White House is getting ready for the holiday season, including a tree dedicated to the military and a giant gingerbread house. That’s right, the local Jacksonville movers learned a 300 pound White House gingerbread house was constructed by the House’s pastry chef. This gingerbread house is actually lighter than last year’s. The family’s dog Bo is bigger though and made of marzipan.

The local Jacksonville moving specialists learned the White House chefs baked a gray-white gingerbread made with rye, buckwheat and whole wheat flour instead of using white chocolate covered gingerbread. The color is the same color the White House was before 1798, when it was painted to protect the Virginia sandstone. But the columns and other architectural details were made of white chocolate and even the interior rooms have white chocolate furniture. The local Jacksonville movers learned Christmas trees were made of blown sugar.All My Sons of Jacksonville learned the gingerbread White House even has working electric lights. The chefs created the kitchen garden using marzipan to create tiny kale, collards, mustard greens, spinach and even candy beehive.

These days, more elaborated and fancier gingerbread houses are becoming popular. Hotels are showcasing their own fancy versions like for example the Mohegan Sun casino and resort that has a 28 feet high masterpiece. The Uncasville, Connecticut resort features a 20,000 pounds gingerbread house. In New York, the Parker Meridien has a masterpiece that includes a crane dangled off a neighboring building after superstorm Sandy. For a closer look at the gingerbread creation of the White house, you can visit in Washington throughout the holidays. It will be displayed in the State Dining Room.

To recreate a 2,500 square feet home, it will take over 9,000 batches of gingerbread and over 4,000 batched of sugar. The local Jacksonville movers actually found out that there are contests to find the best gingerbread house maker. Some may have fees or requirements, but the cool prizes you may win at the end are worth it!
