Explore Denver Like A Local

If you enjoy urban life and outdoor adventure, Denver may be the right place for you. Our Denver movers created this guide so you can explore Denver like a local and determine if you want to make the Mile High City your new home. You will get a glimpse of life in Denver with insight into what makes this city special, hidden gem restaurants, and places to visit.

Why Live in Denver?

People love this city for its breathtaking scenery, abundance of outdoor activities, and downtown convenience. But, don't take our word for it. Our movers have teamed up with Denver native and author of the blog Lifestyle Denver, Libby Levinson, to create this local guide to Denver. Libby's realtor experience makes her more than qualified to help you explore Denver and determine if it suits your lifestyle.

When asked what makes Denver special, Libby stated that the people are genuine and kind. “I love that I can easily fall into conversation with people anywhere.” She appreciates the small-town feel and the fact that she is always running into people she knows.

Local Denver Restaurants

If you're considering making the big move, the food scene will convince you that this is the right decision. Get your foodie fix from Denver's collection of cuisines and dishes. There are must-try famous restaurants and iconic dishes, but the best flavors are found at local favorites around the city. Fortunately, Libby is willing to share her favorite hidden gem restaurants in Denver.

Libby highly recommends Fortune Wok to Table in Cherry Creek. This family-owned restaurant never fails to deliver top-notch meals. In true small restaurant fashion, Fortune Wok to Table has a traditional and limited menu. If you visit this hidden gem, Libby says to “do yourself a favor and order the street noodles and dumplings.”

Places to Visit in Denver

Libby says that spending an evening at Union Station is one of the first things you must do after moving to Denver. Be sure to admire and appreciate the Beaux-Arts and Italianate Romanesque architecture.

Tourist Activities in Denver

When you move, be sure to explore Denver like a tourist. Tourist activities are a great introduction to life and history in Denver. Complete the experience with a “staycation” at a Denver hotel. Libby found herself at local hotels when she was trying to sell her home. She enjoyed her experience so much that she now recommends staying at the Crawford Hotel or Halcyon. “It was an absolute treat to play tourist and call both hotels home for a night.”

For additional insight into life in Denver, check out Libby's blog, Lifestyle Denver. She discusses Denver design trends, real estate, daily life, and noteworthy neighborhoods.
